Road Map Project Small Grants Fund

Purpose

The purpose of the Road Map Project Small Grants Fund is to fund activities, events, and projects that build the capacity and leadership of local grassroots organizations and community stakeholders (i.e., residents, informal or formal organizations) to participate in improving education results within South Seattle and South King County. Subject to fund availability, applications are accepted year-around and considered on a monthly basis.  Awards will range from $500 to $5,000.

General Overview

The Road Map Project is a regional collective impact project focused on dramatically improving education results in South Seattle and South King County, from cradle to college and career. The goal is to double the number of students in the Road Map region who are on track to graduate from college or earn a career credential by 2020, and to close the unacceptable achievement gaps for low-income children and children of color. The Community Center for Education Results (CCER) was founded to provide staffing support for the Road Map Project.

The current level of education results for children in the Road Map region—particularly, immigrant, refugee, low-income students and students of color—are unacceptable.  As a result, a key priority of the Road Map Project is to engage diverse communities and constituencies throughout the region in participating in the improvement of education results.

The Road Map Project Small Grants Fund is a community engagement strategy that provides small grants to coalitions, community groups, organizations and institutions who are committed to achieving the Road Map goal of improving education results from cradle to college and career.
